FCC Junior Cricket 2022
The Fletching Junior Cricket section continues to see great pick up in membership, with over 120 members now training on Friday nights at the Rec. Much good work from George and Shanksy plus the FCC membership to have the Rec looking so good, and it's great to see so many kids involved in cricket on a Friday night at the Rec.
We are now fielding four junior league teams, which is two more than last year, with U9s Mixed side and U11 Mixed side, as well as new sides in the U11 Girls and U12 Mixed sides. We have seen some great wins across the various teams already this season, with notable wins in the U11s vs Cuckfield, and U12s vs much larger clubs Cuckfield and East Grinstead. Well done to U9 Head Coaches, Sandy Barblett and Craig Ewell, for their efforts in the U9s section: the depth in our U9s is notable, and a great sign for the future of the club.
We continue to see a huge pick up in participation from girls at Fletching Cricket with participation across all of our teams, including the U11 Mixed and U12 Mixed. Well done to Rob Bruce and his team of Coaches. We are also very lucky to have former FCC Junior, Freya Kemp, coming to Junior training on Friday 17th June. Freya is a 17 year old who is playing professional cricket for the Southern Vipers, and will play for the Southern Braves in upcoming The Hundred competition. What a fantastic opportunity for our Junior Girls and Boys to hear from Freya about what it takes to become a professional cricketer.
Please come along on a Friday night for a drink at the bar.
