~ Burial Ground - badgers update
Those of you who have walked through the burial ground lately will have noticed that we have badgers again. We are working with the ecologists to resolve the issue. To do any work in relation to badgers requires a licence which the ecologists will be applying for, and the works can only be carried out between July and October.

~ Fletching Neighbourhood Plan
Thank you to everyone who attended the exhibition last month and took the time to complete the questionnaire. The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will now be taking into consideration all the comments made as part of the preparation of the draft plan. For further information on the Neighbourhood Plan please visit the Council’s website – www.fletching-pc.gov.uk.

~ Parish in Bloom
The Parish Council has once again entered the South East Parish in Bloom competition and the judging will take place in June or early July – at the time of writing we are waiting for the date to be confirmed. We are very grateful to everyone who gives their time to us and meets with the judge on the day and also to all of you for making the parish so special – it makes our job easier when we have so many amazing areas that we can show the judge as well as tell them about all the environmental initiatives that are being undertaken.

~ Fletching Book Exchange - now open
Following on from last month I can reveal that the book exchange is now up and running. Hayleigh has made the old phone box in Fletching High Street look amazing and inside there are lots of different genre of books. Please do go and have a look and feel free to donate any unwanted books. How the exchange works etc can all be found on the poster inside the telephone box and there is also a comments book for suggestions.

~ Parish Councillors your parish needs you
Councillor Sally De St Croix has had to resign from the Parish Council due to work pressures which leaves us with a vacancy. We are likely to be filling this vacancy by co-opting a councillor. If you are interested in becoming a parish councillor or want to find out more about what it entails please contact the clerk on 07534 959772 or clerk@fletchingpc.gov.uk

The Parish Council would like to thank Sally for all the hard work she put in to being a councillor and is pleased to report that she is staying on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.
